With an emphasis on play, physicality, character and emotion, be prepared to learn as you have fun! Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are needed for this class. This is an excellent way to keep those brain cells young!

This class ends with a stage production in the Shenkman Arts Centre’s Richcraft Theatre.

Acting for the Mature Theatre Lover

SAC-OST-Adult-Mature Theatre Lover
This course in Acting is for students who would like to learn about acting in a fun environment. Learn how to lift a script off the page and bringing it to life on the stage! You will overcome your inhibitions of performing in front of others, learn the basics of becoming a character in a play, hone the acting chops which you may have already developed years ago, and rehearse scenes for performance onstage in front of a gentle audience. You’re never too old to become a star!

Prerequisites: A wish for Adventure! No other experience or training is required! *10-week sessions.

This course is aimed at students who have completed Level 1 and wish to advance, but still require more guidance from the instructor for the full 2 1/2 hour class. The class will progress towards more advanced forms including covered forms, bowls, plates, sets, teapots and closed-in forms. Some materials included. Prerequisite: Be able to consistently centre and throw a cylinder as high as it is wide.

Emoji Box Workshop

Come and create your very own hand built pottery Emoji Box!

Each participant will design 1 emoji box using clay slabs during this 1.5 hour workshop. The participant will complete the box by painting it with under-glaze. Our technicians will take care of firing your emoji box in our kilns. The boxes will be ready 2 weeks after the workshop for you to pick up.
