Advanced Triple Threat: singing, dancing and acting. Students will work together with an Ottawa Triple Threat professional. Previous experience is an asset; enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. The ability to play an instrument is an extra bonus! Students will get to work with guest experts on voice and movement. The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OST Spring Student Works Showcase.

Teen Shakespeare – Ghosts and the Supernatural, Costumes and Comedy, Battles and Death

SAC - OYP - Teen Shakespeare
Be ready for your High School Shakespeare study. With an emphasis on play, physicality, character and emotion, be prepared to shake up your Shakespeare! Shakespeare makes for exciting and dynamic theatre. Ghosts! Meet Shakespeare’s ghosts and magical characters! Funny! Shakespeare has many comedic scenes of mistaken identity and hilarious adventures! Battles and Death scenes are an actor’s dream! Students learn how to fight and die on stage! Find costumes, dress it up and present at the stage production in the Spring Student Showcase.

On-Camera: Bilingual Class

SAC - OST - Teens On-Camera
On-camera students will learn and practice the basics of film-making and acting. This class provides students with an opportunity for artistic expression as together, with their teacher, they create multiple projects throughout the year. The class will work its way towards a final production created entirely by the students, through projects such as: basic dialogue, silent film, and 2 minute stories. The audience will enjoy their production in the Spring Student Showcase and throughout the year on the OST website.

Teen Portfolio Development - Drawing and Painting Emphasis

SAC - P19ST01C Teen Portfolio Development
This course will focus on developing students’ observational skills while focusing on tone, form, proportion, likeness, depth, composition, and texture. Special attention will be given to portraiture, life drawing, and still life. Students will work from a model in preparation for the Canterbury visual arts interview. Through a variety of painting, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture projects, students will refine their skills and develop a substantial body of work. This course will cover all of the requirements for the Canterbury visual arts portfolio. Also available to teens wanting to attend De la Salle or pursuing their own interest in art. This course is open to new and returning students. Students are asked to bring their own sketchbooks each class. (Tuition includes one draped model.)

Please note: Taking the Teen Portfolio Development course is however not a guarantee that all students will be accepted in the school of their choice.

Monster Workshop (Bilingual)

Come and create your very own hand built pottery monster! Each participant will design 1 monster using clay which can hold your phone or device! During this 1.5 hour workshop participants will learn the pinch pot and coil methods of handbuilding. Our technicians will take care of glazing and firing your monsters in our kilns. The monsters will be ready 2 weeks after the workshop for you to pick up.

One Night on the Wheel

SAC - GPS - One night on the wheel
Have you wanted to try making pottery on the wheel? Here is your opportunity to enjoy one evening discovering the art of throwing clay. During this 2 hour workshop you will learn to throw one small pot. After the workshop our technicians will trim and fire your piece and it will be ready for you to pick up in 2 weeks. Come and relax while experiencing the joy of clay. All materials included. Additional pots made if client chooses to keep them will be $7 +HST each.
